Your Initial Consultation with Dr Ryan

At the first appointment Dr Ryan will review the referral information, take a full history, (you should bring a full list of your medication with you). He will  examine your cardiac and respiratory systems and any other relevant clinical exam. This appointment usually takes around 40 minutes and you are welcome to bring a family member or friend with you.

You may have additional tests such as spirometry  (a lung function test)  or skin prick tests performed during this consultation.

If relevant Dr Ryan will review your imaging with you, explaining your x-rays and CT scans. He will then discuss a plan or options for further investigation and / or treatment with you, and answer any questions you may have.

A few days after your appointment you will receive a copy of the letter sent to your GP or referrer. This is to summarise the consultation, communicate and clarify the actions which need to be undertaken.

How do you get to see Dr. Ryan?

All patients, for their initial consultation, will need a referral from their General Practitioner (GP). Once Dr. Ryan has received your referral from your GP, a new patient consultation appointment will be made for you.

Further follow up appointments can be made within twelve months of the initial consultation, if it relates to the same condition.
