Respiratory medicine generally deals with all conditions which affect the lungs and airways. It is also known as chest medicine, thoracic medicine or pulmonology.

Dr Ryan, Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, investigates, diagnoses and treats patients with all types of respiratory illnesses. In addition, as an NHS Consultant also undertaking acute general medicine, many conditions affecting other systems can be diagnosed, treated or referred on to the most appropriate specialist.
